CW+ is the official charity of the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, encompassing West Middlesex Hospital and other clinics.
With the outbreak of COVID-19, the charity launched its COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund to help staff provide the best possible care across the communities it serves during the pandemic. It installed mobile phone charging lockers and tables for patients to use in the wards and staff to use in the training centres, restaurants and during their rest breaks. To make them safer to use they have been treated with Si-Quat’s Clean N Coat persistent disinfectant coating to reduce the risk of infection transmission.
CW+ are very complimentary about the service “These units have proved to be popular with patients and staff. Being coated with Si-Quat has given people the confidence to use them to stay connected to their work and outside lives.” Si-Quat Clean N Coat lasts for over 300 touches which is about seven days in practice and remains active, unlike basic disinfectants which are not effective after the surface has been touched.
Luck’s Yard Clinic in Milford (Surrey) offering a wide range of health care treatments including chiropractic, podiatry and sports rehabilitation.
The practice has remained open during the pandemic and had to change many of its practices in order to remain safe for patients and staff. The constant sanitisation of surfaces such as doors, chairs, treatment tables, etc. after each patient’s visit had become the norm. The amount of time and quantity of disinfectant required to perform this activity was significant. The clinic decided to use Si-Quat Clean N Coat to provide a more persistent protection against Covid-19 whilst reducing the amount of disinfectant used and how often it is applied.
To familiarise patients and staff with the protection offered by Si-Quat, stickers and information posters are displayed throughout the clinic.
In 2010, Dan Eley suffered a spinal cord injury during a diving accident while on holiday with friends in the Amazon. His injuries were life-changing, leaving him paralysed from the shoulders downwards and wheelchair-bound ever since. He set up a foundation in 2012 to help South American youngsters living in poverty and precarious circumstances access vocational training and mentoring. He also gives talks about the life-changing impact of his injury and how to overcome such adversity, turning it into success and a more profound sense of fulfilment in life.
Dan lives in his own apartment, supported by a team of people providing him with 24/7 care. Protecting his health has always been a priority but is even more so during the pandemic. Dan’s carers are using Si-Quat Clean N Coat in his apartment to provide a persistent protection against Covid-19.

Lee-on-the-Solent Golf Club has been in existence for over 100 years. Like many golf clubs, it has been enjoying an increase in membership and use of its golfing facilities. However, many members had been reluctant to use the indoor restaurant and bar facilities due to the Corona Virus. To give confidence that the club is a safer place to visit, particularly as the weather turned colder, the club chose Si-Quat Active Coating to treat the outside furniture, trolleys and flag poles. This makes it safer for golfers to use the chairs and move the flag poles. Inside Si-Quat Clean N Coat is being used to replace the main cleaning and disinfectant products to treat the high touch points in the club including the bar/restaurant area, light switches and stairways.
Andrew Buck, the manager, said: “Using Si-Quat is enabling the club to demonstrate we are taking cleaning and sanitising seriously and making the club a safer space to visit. This in turn is giving confidence to members to come inside and use the bar and restaurant facilities”.
Wimbledon Common Golf Club has also started using the products. Emma Pope, the General Manager of Wimbledon Common Golf Club said: “We have taken every step we can to ensure that our club house is a safer space, and this seemed a logical extra level. We got the whole bar area treated; the process was very simple and it dried quickly. The coating is so thin you can’t actually see it’s there.”
